Sarah woke up in a good mood when we got back to the hotel. We changed her clothes (she came to us like a plump little dumpling with about 5 layers of clothes on) and her diaper and gave her a bottle to drink. She likes to lie by herself and drink her bottle but doesn't mind if you snuggle right up next to her. We've done our best to try to tell her in Chinese that we love her and that we are her mommy and daddy.
We gave her some photos of Hannah and Micah holding a picture of her, which she loved to play with and held onto throughout the afternoon. In fact, when we put her down for an afternoon nap (the nap in the car wasn't very long), she fell asleep sucking on her hands and holding onto one of the photos of Hannah and Micah holding her picture. So sweet!
She was in good spirits the rest of the day. So far, the only time we've heard her cry is when they first put her in my arms. We thank God for how smoothly her transition has gone so far.
When she woke up from her nap, she downed 3 Baby Mum Mum, and then some banana and baby food we brought with us. Then she played with toys and enjoyed having us read books to her. Moo Baa La La La seems to transcend language barriers.
She went on a walk with her daddy around the hotel, played some more in the room, and then it was bedtime (for all of us). She fell asleep easily and has slept well through the night. She cried out once in her sleep, and I just said, "It's okay," and she went right back to sleep. And she is still sleeping (it is 6:30 am here as I write).
The weather here has been cold and rainy, and Sarah has a cold with a bad cough, so we're not sure how much we'll be able to get out with her. If the weather is nicer today, we are supposed to go to Chengdu's panda research base this afternoon.
Thank you for all of your love and prayers. In many ways, we would like to get on a plane today and come home now, but we still have many official proceedings to get through, and we also know that this is a very important bonding time for the three of us to experience.

Wow!!! I can't believe you finally have little Sarah. God is so good! I am praying that she will continue to transition easily and bond to her mommy and daddy. BTW...Karson was sick when we got him. One little round of good old American antibiotics did the trick :)

I can't begin to imagine what you are going through right now; thank-you for sharing this special time in your lives with all of us. She sounds so sweet and I can't wait to meet her. I can imagine that Moo-Baa-La,La,La would transcend all language barriers, as does your love for Sarah! We love you!

Sounds like she already has a fondness for her new little brother and big sister. They are going to go crazy over her when you get home! Love you both! Soak up this one on one time with your baby girl!
