We have Sarah!

We have Sarah! We are driving back to our hotel after a trip this morning to Sarah's orphanage to meet and get Sarah. Sarah is asleep right now in Keri's arms, after having filled up on sweet potato Veggie Puffs as her morning snack. The Veggie Puffs broke the ice right away, causing a quick transition from Sarah crying as the orphanage director handed her to Keri, to Sarah being very content to Keri holding her, feeding her and Sarah playing with a toy flip phone.

The trip to the orphanage was longer (1 hour, due to traffic and rain) than our stay there. We got to the orphanage, went to a meeting room, and met the orphanage director. A nurse quickly came and took our temperatures and pronounced us healthy enough to take Sarah. Sarah was then brought in, and it was a sweet and very joyful time of meeting her and holding her for the first time. She is absolutely beautiful!

We signed a few papers and it was time to leave. We could not tour the orphanage because of H1N1 flu concerns, but from what we saw, it looks like it was the best possible situation for Sarah, given that she has been in an orphanage. We did get a quick peak at a classroom of other children, and it looked like a typical pre-school class.

We are thankful to God to finally meet and get our sweet daughter Sarah!
